SNAPI Wins 2023 Consensus Innovation Award

The Hon. Ed Husic MP presented the Innovation Award trophy to SNAPI at the 23rd annual Consensus Awards ceremony in Sydney last week.

The Brisbane startup was named winner amongst successful tech companies and high potential innovations across education, agriculture, financial and sustainability sectors.

Fellow winners includes Gorgon Cyber Defence System and a reusable scramjet engine from Hypersonic.

The Innovation Award represents a consensus among a panel of 11 judges that SNAPI’s AI-powered digital meter reading solution should be awarded for its practicality, potential impact, performance, in addition to its demonstration of innovation.

“Regardless of size or distance, our tech sector can show the rest of the world what Australia can achieve,” said Hon Ed Husic at the event.

SNAPI CEO Mark Hartmann was presented the award at UTS in Sydney.

“After years of work, SNAPI is achieving fantastic momentum right now,” he said.

“Besides our hard work on an efficient and effective digitisation solution for utilities, there’s a number of market forces at play here,” he continued.

“This includes ESG reporting mandates and net-zero targets, and more talk of a “people powered” transition to 100% renewables.  It’s generating a wave of organisations, regulators and solution providers seeking more data – and they need it ASAP.”

“We cannot report, monitor or manage our most precious natural resources without data. And we simply cannot wait any longer.”

“That’s why a digitisation solution at scale is critical to empower every business, household and individual to become part of change that will improve our health, safety and economic stability,” he said.

In addition to winning the Consensus Award, SNAPI has recently been shortlisted for two 2023 AIIA iAwards and won a share of $1.4m in funding from Advance Queensland’s Ignite Ideas.
